Indulge me

If you're going to serve, serve well

Think of this as your wishlist—except it’s mine.
Select with care, gift with purpose, and know it will make me smile.

Dining

As a Japanese-American, I was raised in a food culture that prizes both refinement and innovation. I savor dining experiences that balance elegance with creativity—where the artistry of flavor is matched by intention. This should go without saying, but I will always decline invitations to sub-par sushi restaurants. Do your research, or ask me which restaurants I would like to try.

Fashion

Having lived a past life in luxury fashion design and production, I have cultivated a keen eye for the finer things in life. My tastes are never swayed by the latest fads or trends - and are instead rooted in quality, timelessness, and expressiveness. It’s rare that others  share my level of discernment, but those that thoughtfully select gifts that meet my standards of aesthetics and craftsmanship can delight in adorning me in pieces that I will cherish and care for, for a long time. I am hard to please, but this Wishlist makes it easier to do so.

Toys & Gear

I collect well-crafted, aesthetically striking kink toys and impact instruments. My favorite set is a collection of lacquered whangee bamboo tools, handcrafted by a Japanese artisan who works exclusively with traditional materials. Anything added to my arsenal must meet my strict standards for design, durability, and effect. If it can bruise beautifully and look good doing it, I might consider it.

Music

Lately, I’ve been building a record collection spanning jazz, techno, ambient, and folk. My most prized record is one I serendipitously picked up while starting my career in professional domination - upon listening, you’ll understand exactly why it has a special place in my heart (trust me, it’s worth a listen past the intro). An eager sub may hope to please me by hunting down the original pressing of one of My favorite Japanese jazz records of all time - Bamboo by Minoru Muraoka.

Literature

My literary tastes veer toward the provocative. I devour science fiction, feminist noir, and anything that blurs the line between the cerebral and the depraved. My name, Izumi Tanizaki, is a nod to two authors who’ve shaped my world. Izumi Suzuki was a brilliant and volatile writer of speculative fiction, best known for her bleak, satirical tales of dystopian futures and matriarchal power structures—Women and Women features a particularly unforgettable take on male objectification. Jun’ichirō Tanizaki, one of Japan’s great modernists, wrote with obsessive devotion to the erotic, the grotesque, and the aesthetic—his work explores fetish, control, shame, and beauty with exquisite precision. My library is a mirror of my mind: sharp, sensual, and deeply twisted.

Lifestyle

Some of the most thoughtful gifts support the life I’ve designed for myself. Contributions that nourish me—Whole Foods gift cards, Pilates studio memberships, or beautiful storage vessels—don’t go unnoticed. I also maintain a regular regimen of beauty rituals: monthly facials, intricate nail art appointments, and pedicures that keep me polished to perfection. These aren’t indulgences—they're necessities. They allow me to live with clarity, vitality, and elegance. Even your practical tribute becomes part of my refinement. And what better reward is there than that?
